The much-maligned sloth is an energy-saving icon with much to teach us humans about sustainable living. Slothville is the place to kick back, relax and enjoy the best sloth content on the web, get tips on slowing down and discover how we can protect sloths and their jungle home. This sanctuary is divided into 4 sections. First area is with all these little frogs & I mean little tiny ones that are poisonous. It's a small circular area to view. Then you move into an area where the orchids are grown.
The Sloth Institute (TSI)'s mission is to enhance and expand the welfare and conservation of sloths.
The Sloth Institute has a 3 pronged approach to realizing its vision:
1) RESEARCH of captive, wild and recently released sloths including collaborations with conservationists and scientists around the world
2) EDUCATION to generate and disseminate responsible information about sloths
3) CONSERVATION programs that negate human encroachment issues impacting sloths welfare and habitat.
PLEASE NOTE: The Sloth Institute is not a sloth sanctuary. TSI is a non-profit organization specializing in research and education with a particular focus on the behavior, health and welfare of recently released, wild and captive sloths. Sloths are not available to be seen by the public as it is in their best interest to have as little human contact as possible. If you are staying at Tulemar Resort and are interested in a nature walk to see WILD sloths then please contact your concierge to schedule.
